Designing my fascinations

​

During my 2nd year in college, I got interested in future scenarios especially in how future technologies could change these scenarios. This was because of the Queen of the Adriatic game project we made earlier in that year. The assignment was to design your fascinations in your very own way.​

A world as  a tool for discussion about the future

​

My answer to the assignment was a 3d world which should provoke discussion. Inspired by speculative design I made a 3d world in which is packed with all kind of advertisements to simulate future technologies and trends that could develop. These advertisements should start discussions between players which could help develop technologies and trends with humans in the centre of it in the future

- Substance Painter

Insights

- Giving hints within your world can give a bigger

context to the worldbuilding story,

 

- High-end textures benefit from light sources to really make them stand out.

The main thing for me to develop my game development skills in this project was that I wanted the environments to have more meaning. Through giving more context to the world and giving hints of a bigger world.  I created a bigger story for the worldbuilding of these scenarios. Besides that, I implemented everything myself into unity with outsourced scripts and skybox which I did learn to implement myself.
